Recently I watched a PBS stationed that aired the question: Would The World Be Better Off Without Religion? Almost two thirds of the audience came off agreeing that it would. A woman in the audience made the claim that religion was invented by humans because of their fear of death and to make themselves immortal. To a growing number of people, religion is simply wishful thinking. However, religion does not have to be based on that notion. Belief in God should have nothing to do with an innate fear of death. Scriptures show us that God has placed eternity in the heart of man, however man himself is mortal, completely mortal. Nothing of man survives his physical death; nothing. He was told at Genesis 3:19, "You were made out of soil, and you will once again turn into soil"; he would return to the same inanimate state he was before he came into existence. Scripture does not harmonize with atheistic assumptions regarding ALL religion. Evidence points to corruption of religion, so much so that most people are atheists in that they won't be bothered with it. People are disgusted with religion and so they invent stories about how it originated and how it invented God out of thin air out of our innate fear of death. To say that religion has been corrupted is just too controversial and most people do not want to deal with that controversy. Watching Would The World Be Better Off Without Religion? made me even more convinced we are living in the horrible times spoken of in the Bible, one where it speaks of people having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power. Atheists disguised as theists. In the summer of 1968 I started to doubt the plausibility of the theory of evolution as the explanation of how life originated on this planet and the concept of our having a non-human common ancestor. Over the past forty-four years I have noticed, not human evolution, but a devolution of human society as a whole. The above Scriptures point to the obvious devolution of the human race. This is the main reason we now live in horrible times. As time passes, it seems as though the brain of the common man is shrinking. With all the information that is out there through the internet, Why aren't people becoming more informed? True, they receive the data, but their ability to process it correctly seems to be hindered. They seem to have an inability to connect what they learn to logical conclusions. A couple of weeks ago I was appalled by a statement made by an "expert" in ancient civilizations. His conclusions regarding the marvel of Inca engineering, for example, was that they couldn't have done it, therefore it had to be extraterrestrials. That was his logical conclusion. His stance was the same for the Egyptian pyramids. The learned peoples of today cannot fathom that ancient human beings were in many respects superior to ourselves because that runs contrary to the popular belief in the theory of evolution, and more toward the Biblical notion that we were closer to perfection in times past. Over the last 40 years, I have spent over 25 of them in the underdeveloped country of Bolivia. My position during that time, being a language professor for my secular employment but a Christian evangelizer as a volunteer, gave me the luxury of "educating" both the literate and illiterate, wealthy and poor, the elite class and the lower classes. I arrived in Bolivia in March of 1973 with preconceived notions about intelligence that were proven wrong over the years. I was constantly amazed at how intelligent the uneducated were and how utterly stupid the privileged few can be. I was giving a class at YPFB (Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos) 1977 to a group of petro-geologists. This was a conversation course that allowed for scientific discussion. One of the engineers threw a book across the room at the end of the conference table where I was sitting simply because I was trying to explain why I no longer believed in Darwin's theory of evolution. In 1965, as military dependent, I became extremely interested in current events and intently listened to news broadcasts that aired each evening from the U.S. Air Force television channel at the Spangdahlem Air Base in what was then called West Germany. One news bite surprised me, since I was a firm believer that we descended from a common ancestor as our primate cousins. It was concerning an apology from a university professor for teaching that the negro race was one scale lower than the white race. His apology was for offending blacks, which he said was not his intention, but, in the same breath he stated he was only conveying the facts with regards to the science of Darwin's theory. Modern-day intellectual arrogance is the key recipe for stupidity. The human brain becomes so overwhelmed with nonsense that it unable to distinguish what is truly important from what is good for nothing. Some 30 years ago Garrett Hardin was quoted as saying: "England now has 11 times as large a population as it had in Shakespeare’s day — but does it have 11 times as many Shakespeares? Does it have even one Shakespeare?" Notions regarding human evolution has not proved true and since Darwin's theory was introduced we have seen evidence of devolution instead of evolution. We live in a world where you can install cable or satellite connection for your television set and have instant access to 150 channels of nothing worthwhile to watch. Even educational channels spew out intellectual nonsense of people who are both clueless and bias. More and more it is harder to find people described by Jesus' illustration of the fine soil: Look at the following point that is trying to be made: A political person could use this depiction as applying to someone else. But, Who is the man stepping off the plank that is supporting the speaker? Who is the speaker? Who are the ones holding signs, paying attention to the speaker and remaining on the plank? A professor is a scholarly teacher; the precise meaning of the term varies by country. Literally, professor derives from Latin as a "person who professes" being usually an expert in arts or sciences; a teacher of high rank. In much of the world, including most Commonwealth nations (such as the United Kingdom), German-speaking and northern Europe, professor is reserved only for the most senior academics holding a departmental chair (especially head of the department) at a university, or an awarded chair specifically bestowed recognizing an individual at a university. A Professor is a highly accomplished and recognized academic, and the title may be awarded only after decades of scholarly work. In the United States and Canada, however, the title of professor is granted to larger groups of senior teachers in two- and four-year colleges and universities, and used in the titles Assistant Professor and Associate Professor which are not considered Professor-level positions elsewhere. In countries on the northern European mainland, such as Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands and the Scandinavian countries, usage of professor as a legal title is limited much the same way as in most Commonwealth countries, that is, it is reserved for someone who holds a chair. In the United States, while "Professor" as a proper noun (with a capital "P") generally implies a title, the common noun "professor" in the US describes anyone with a permanent position at the college (i.e. university) level, regardless of rank; also, as a prenominal title of address, it can be capitalized without implying the title rank. In Portugal, France, Romania and Latin America (Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking), the term professor (profesor / professor / professeur / profesor) is used for anyone teaching at a school, institute, technical school, vocational school, college, or university, regardless of the level of the subject matter taught or the level or ages of students. This includes instructors at the grade/elementary school, middle school, and high school levels. However, when the professor teaches at a university, they are specifically called a "university professor"; if holding a chair, then catedrático is used in Spanish. It is common to call university professors just "profesor" (Spanish) or "professor" (Portuguese). In Italy Primary school teachers are called "maestro" or "maestra" according to their sex; teachers in scuole medie (age 11-13) and scuole secondarie (age 14-19) are called "professore" or "professoressa". The same title is used for university professors. In Spain, the term professor (Basque, Galician and Spanish: (m) profesor, (f) profesora; Aranese and Catalan: (m) professor, (f) professora) is used for higher-level teachers at the secondary education level (high school, lyceum, institute, etc.) and above (i.e. institute, technical school, vocational school, college, or university). Instructors at the primary or elementary school level
are called teachers (Aranese: (m) mèstre, (f) mèstra; Basque: (m) maisu, (f) maistra; Catalan and Galician: (m) mestre, (f) mestra; Spanish: (m) maestro, (f) maestra). When the professor teaches at a university, they are specifically called a "university professor"; if holding a chair, then chair (Aranese: catedratic; Basque: katedraduna; Catalan: catedràtic; Galician and Spanish: catedrático) is used. In Spain, it is not common to call university professors just "professor". Beyond holding the proper academic title, universities in many countries also append famous artists, athletes and foreign dignitaries with the title honorary professor, even if these persons don't have the academic qualifications typically necessary for professorship. However, such "professors" usually do not undertake academic work for the granting institution.

GEHENNA, the Greek word translated hell in the common version, occurs 12 times. It is the Grecian mode of spelling the Hebrew words which are translated, "The valley of Hinnom." This valley was also called Topheth, detestation, an abomination. Into this place were cast all kinds of filth, with the carcasses of beasts, and the unburied bodies of criminals who had been executed. Continual fires were kept to consume these. Sennacherib's army of 185,000 men were slain here in one night. Here children were also burnt to death in sacrifice to Moloch. Gehenna, then, as occurring in the New Testament, symbolizes death and utter destruction, but in no place signifies a place of eternal torment. — 1864 Emphatic Diaglott, page 857
